About the Project

As part of the Masters of Heritage Restoration and Regeneration, of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism in Timișoara, generation 2020-2022, an extensive exercise was carried out to enhance the value of the Evangelical Church from Apoș (18th century). One of the key challenges of the project was the study of the territory near the Church. Given the complex relationships between the main objective, secondary objectives, routes, vantage points and vegetation, the master's students under the leadership of the teaching team quickly concluded that a 3D model of the surrounding landscape was extremely necessary and useful.

About the Process

In this case, a 3D model of the landscape was requested to be the basis of intervention projects in the territory. In order to obtain the requested materials, a scheduled drone flight (Parrot Anafi) was carried out over a territory of 20 ha. The level of detail requested was relatively low, 5-10 cm / pixel. After scanning (from a constant height of 50 m) and processing the materials, an average accuracy of 2cm/pixel was reached.
